NYC 2012 Olympic Commission
In the drive to win the bid for the 2012 Olympics, The NYC Olympic Commission was looking to generate awareness and support among New York City residents. One of the more impressive tools they had at their disposal was a set of architectural renderings showing how sites around the city would be transformed by the Olympics.
This "Olympic Vision" campaign was developed to highlight those renderings. View Masters were sent out to business executives showing before and after pictures of what an Olympic Village would look like in Long I Long Island City and Madison Square Garden. Tourist binoculars were set up at Brooklyn Promenade and Fulton Market—when you looked through them you got a picture of how the Brooklyn Bridge, Lower Manhattan and other sites would look during the 2012 Games.
